A hole in the wall place we wouldn’t normally eat at but the catfish fiddlers were delicious...fried perfectly. Homemade chocolate and coconut pies were wonderful, just like home. Reasonable prices and great service. We will go back.

Nice clean restaurant, food was good. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Interior is filled with colorful old sayings on the walls, and large whiteboard menus. Make sure you try their homemade pies. Breakfast for two with a to-go piece of coconut cream pie for only $14.

All we got was pie. It was good enough. They don't sell whole pies so we had to pay for 6 pieces so we could take home a pie to share with my parents it cost around $18 to $20, but the turtle pie tastes homemade no complaints on the quality of dessert. We did also get a drink it was loaded with ice so much so that it felt like only a couple gulps before we were slurping at the bottom of the drink. No big deal if your not on the road like we were. I took one star away because there were people seated and the one employee up front chose to wait on the guys in line in front of us and then us before getting the people seated the menu.Quality of service can be better and they should offer whole pies to be taken home at a better price. $18 to $20 is kind of steep.

Waited 1hour and 45 minutes for 2 burgers 2 fries and baked beans and they still didn't get it right. Won't see us again!

Nice clean little place in the middle of nowhere. I really enjoyed chatting with the locals before and after our meal. This place is more southern than I expected with fried pickles, and such. Some days of the week are "sampler days" when they pass out samples of everything. Honest to God, I think our waitress's name was "Tater". All in all, if you are looking for small town America in both food and atmosphere, this is it.

The biscuits and gravy had too much pepper on it and the eggs didn't tasted good and the ham and hashbrowns were ok and yummy plus while I was eating some thing was crowling on my arm and plus the windows were dirty and alot of flies were flying around and next to the dirty window was dead flyes I won't eat there again

Friendly service. Tomatoes and macaroni was tomato sauce and macaroni. I am use to tomatoes with onion and macaroni.

In the wonderful little town of Cave in Rock Illinois right near the fairyboat. This restaurant is so cozy. The food is really good and Miss Rose is a treat to talk with. Prices are really decent and all her sweet treats are homemade. If you catch yourself in this area stop in for lunch

This is such a delight in this beautiful small town Illinois. Everything was home made and great down home cooking. I recommend the fried chicken and make sure you get a piece of pie.

It's all good food and a nice woman runs it. She will take care of you.

Food was good. Just an omelet for 6.25. At first was disappointed HOWEVER once you cut into it, there was plenty of meat to make it worth the price. They aren't stingy at all.Only problem I had was the busy body lady gossiping. Got old quick. Good food. Good service. Would go back so long as that lafy isn't there polluting my ears.

It was breakfast on eclipse day. They had never seen so many people so the whole place was slammed. Service was good for the circumstances. The kitchen was terribly slow but food was great. Everyone was friendly. A customer helped the servers out with menus, drinks, and order taking. The coffee making machine barely kept up with demand. Extremely busy that day!

Great little diner worth stopping at. Great southern foods like corn nuggets, fried corn bread, beats, fried pickles, and even fried or grilled Bluegill. Also great place for ice if you are camping at Cave-in Rock State Park Campground. Travel to this amazing area and shop local.

The food was cooked well and in contrast to eating at the lodge the night before was a delight, but we ordered the horseshoe and discovered it is nothing like a real horseshoe. What they serve is a cheap version of a ponyshoe. I would have rated 4stars had it not been for this disappointment. Still much better than the lodges food up the road.

This is authentic country cooking that is hard to beat. You can get standards like burgers and fries, but also meatloaf, fried chicken, vegetables, and pies and cakes. The decor is simple, but clean and you might learn something from the people often sitting at the Table of Knowledge in the back of the restaurant.
